Coming from a harvesting background going back to the mid 19th century, we saw an opportunity to expand our market value by opening up a sawmill in the late nineties. With knowledge coming from 3 generations, we became determined to manage the entire process from harvesting to end-user. As we advance the process to expand within the industry, we managed to strengthen our market value in the Bosnia & Herzegovina and become a market leader in our activity.
With the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia, ASIKS moved into new adventures in 2000 by launching a sawmill to help build up the fallen country. With a long history in the logging industry, the management came with a know-how that created a solid base for a successful business.
ASIKS is mainly manufacturing spruce sawn timber, which is the most common wood specie growing across Bosnian forests. All our logs are specifically selected to fit any demands that might come our way. All lumber that is bought from our cooperative mills, and is sold to the end-users goes through a thorough check and gets treated properly before shipping.
All our business is managed from Bosanski Petrovac in Bosnia & Herzegovina, which is located near the biggest forestry areas in Bosnia and near the Croatian ports.
By manufacturing and trading the product ourselves, we are able to trade high quality spruce sawn timber across the whole world. Our product mainly comes from south-eastern Europe and is available in over 20 countries worldwide.

ASIKS D.O.O produces a wide range of high quality spruce lumber, with a smooth surface and accurate measurements, adapted specifically to fit your needs. With its lightweight properties, strong texture and high durability, we are able to manufacture the wood for any type of requirement that might come our way. All our material is graded in accordance to the Bosnian Timber Trade usage - LEV I-III, with lengths going from 1000MM – 8000MM. Our lumber is available with the following specifications:
Due to the increasing size tolerance becoming “popular” in some countries, in order to lower the prices and become more competitive – ASIKS always tries to let the natural shrinkage play its own role, without adding additional tolerance. The natural shrinkage of European softwoods is approximately +-2MM overall, depending on the growth area, time of harvest, cutting process and storage.
In order to avoid any shrinkage, colour change and damage, we always try to have a minimum amount of goods available on stock. All our material is cut and prepared in accordance the sizes agreed between the parties involved, which ranges a lot from country to country. However, smaller amounts of standard sizes: 20X80, 40X40, 60X60, 80X80 & 50X250, are always available for immediate shipments.

Large container packages with sub-bundles are available upon request. This type of packaging consists of smaller sizes, wrapped together in small bundles of 4-10 pieces.
All kiln dried material comes with our own “ASIKS – MORE THAN WOOD” plastic wrap, which protects the timber from getting soaked or cracked due to weather conditions.
In order to improve the optical impression and to avoid any cracks in the lumber, we are able to colour the edges, in any colour that might be requested. Our standard colours usually come in red, green & blue – depending on the market where the product is being exported to.
All our timber is labelled with our own “ASIKS” logo, unless otherwise is agreed. We are also able to apply the logo of our customers to the packages, by agreement. Our products are used in a variety of applications – from construction and concrete formwork in the building sector to the manufacture of furniture and interior designs.
